Rainwater harvesting tank installation

Underground rainwater harvesting tank: excavation, installation and groundworks

Underground rainwater harvesting tank: excavation, installation and groundworks

This groundworks package delivered an underground rainwater harvesting system to capture and store roof water for reuse. After setting out the tank position we CAT-scanned the garden for buried services, then excavated a long, square-sided trench to the required formation level.

The modular black plastic harvesting tank was delivered to site, positioned beside the excavation and then lifted into the pit with plant. Our team packed and levelled around the tank, connecting inspection lids and leaving the installation ready for backfill, drainage connections and reinstatement.

Rainwater harvesting reduces mains water use, eases pressure on drainage in heavy rain and is a practical sustainable drainage (SuDS) solution for gardens and commercial sites. The work combined civil engineering excavation, drainage knowledge and careful working around existing fences, trees and neighbouring properties.
