Public access footpath installation

Public access footpath works: grass reinforcement grids, compacted path and rope barriers
We were appointed to construct a new public access footpath through landscaped grounds at a commercial visitor site. The existing grass was marked out, turf stripped and a mini digger used to form a stable formation while protecting a mature oak and nearby planting.
A geotextile-lined sub-base of compacted MOT type 1 was laid and plate-compacted to create a firm, free-draining foundation. Green plastic grass reinforcement grids were then cut and fitted to the path alignment, including a wider landing around the tree, before being blinded with a compacted sand wearing course for a natural finish that remains accessible in wet weather.
To keep pedestrians on the new route we installed treated timber posts with rope barriers, forming a clear public footpath from the lawn through to adjacent buildings and event tents. The result is a durable, low-maintenance access path suited to high footfall, commercial landscaping and public realm groundworks.
